A family with aspirations to retire full time in Crested Butte put their ideals to work in the design of this thoughtful, efficient all electric home in the Town of Crested Butte. They prioritized sustainable design practices, including use of photovoltaic roof panels, a highly insulated building envelope and an air to water heat source pump. A pellet stove will help to heat the home. Charging capacity for two electric vehicles will be installed.
A compact floor plan provides gracious sleeping and working spaces for the homeowners and their family. An accessory dwelling over the one- car garage will provide long term housing for a local resident.
Sunny first floor living spaces open south to a courtyard patio with a seating area, grill and hot tub. Exposed steel beams on the interior give a contemporary feel and allow for easy flow in column free living areas. The second floor master suite is private and takes advantage of the premium north facing mountain views.
Thermory siding provides a durable and natural exterior look. A standing seam roof is the ideal surface for solar panels. Flagstones patios and walkways ensure a permeable surface for rainwater and snowmelt.
